The Corona Virus and Rahu

Introduction:

With regard to the corona virus, most astrological articles have focused on ‘ when will the pandemic end’  ? or ‘ when will there be a cure for the virus’?

I wish to focus on the why and what of the corona virus from the astrological viewpoint.

Philosophical underpinnings:

The reason i wish to look at the virus from the grahas( planets ) point of view is the very basic founding block of astrology or jyotish which is :

1. The planets are a part of the Supreme Intelligence or Nature .

    2.   They have been allocated very specific roles to play in the Universe and to understand them is to understand Nature.

For eg metaphorically the moon stands for nourishment , mars for valour etc.

Hence ,if we can understand which planet the virus behaves like , we can try and infer what the the virus is trying to teach us or tell us by using the symbology of the planet.

Primary hypothesis:

It is my primary hypothesis, that the virus behaves like Rahu and that Ketu stands for the measures of prevention and the vaccine.

One is an Expansionary force and the other a Contracting force.

Rahu likes to spread fast and uncontrollably . Ketu likes to slow down and self isolate!

Rahu  and  Ketu:

Rahu and Ketu are called the chaya grahas or shadow planets because they are not actual planets but points of intersection of the Earths orbit round the sun and moons orbit round the Earth.

They both have very distinct and varied personalities that affect us and the world in which we live.

RAHU MAHARAJ ( THE EXPANDER):

The demon king, Rahu maharaja , has the reputation of a trouble maker but also boon giver. He said  to be the most ambitious , tamasic of all planets with  a knack  for being a master manipulator!

Rahu is said to have only HIS HEAD and hence tends to remain perennially hungry and angry. 

It is also said the Rahu is KAAL or death personified and hence in  jyotish,  Rahu is an indicator of untimely death or accidents. 

RAHU’S significations:

1. Scientific breakthroughs
2. Space travel
3. Viruses
4. Unexplained outbreaks of diseases.
5. Unknown causes of death.

RAHU’S psychological traits:

1. Breaking the law
2. lack of impulse control
3. addictions
4. gathering in large numbers like dance parties 
5. disregard for morality or good behaviour
6. the deceiver and multiplier

The mouth

Scientific analysis of the corona virus:

From the available scientific data till date we know that the virus -

1. Spreads primarily through the mouth and nose
2. Spreads very fast in  large gatherings
3. is very difficult to detect 
4. is mutating very often
5. has different effect on different people
6. Can kill you in cases of extreme co-morbidities

My questions:

1. Who does the corona virus behave like?
2. What can be learnt from the corona virus?

Question 1:  Who does the coroner virus behave like?

From the above mentioned data ,it can be reasonably inferred that the corona virus mimics Rahu to a large extent.

Rahu’s role in our life :

Rahus primary role is to make you ambitious and driven . He is the alpha male and represents the overall progress  every civilisation has made in terms science,finance,medicine,engineering and quality of life.

Rahu’s negative effects:

Rahus primary trait is that HE DOES NOT RESPECT ANYONE . ESPECIALLY NOT NATURE!! The  aggressive deforestation happening on earth is a classic Rahu drive.

He does NOT care for the consequences  of his actions and HIS MOTTO in life is JUST ENJOY AT any COST!

Rahu and the corona virus:

It is classic rahu behaviour like not wearing masks , not listening to authorities that has allowed the virus to begin its second and in some countries even third waves.

Question 2:  What can be learnt from the corona virus?

In this context of Rahu and the corona virus , we can learn the following:

1. Progress is good but not at the cost of the environment.
2. NATURE MUST BE RESPECTED AT ALL TIMES.
3. All actions have CONSEQUENCES GOOD OR BAD.

These are important learnings from the virus that can help us all.

Conclusion:

In summary , Rahu is the corona virus and Rahu is the Behaviour within us that has allowed the virus to spread and become a pandemic!

We must try and curb the Rahu ( impulsive behaviour) within us to get rid of the virus!!

Was I Fated to get divorced ? Fate versus free will.

 

Introduction:

‘ Was I fated to get divorced?  Why did i have to go through all this? Could I have prevented any of this?? “  These are some of the most common questions i get asked as an astrologer from people in different spheres of life.

So it begs the critical question “  IS EVERYTHING FATED OR CAN WE PREVENT ANYTHING USING OUR OWN FREE WILL ?? “

This is also a very old , often discussed and debated philosophical question of ‘ FATE VERSUS FREE WILL”.

Understanding fate and free will:

1. Fate (Naseeb):

It is the indomitable IRON HAND that rules your life . Fate determines where you are born , your physique , your prospects in life and death.

For people who only believe in Fate ,  FATE RULES AND DETERMINES EVERYTHING FROM YOUR BIRTH TO YOUR DEATH.

One of the common indicators of your fate is your birth chart or kundali. The birth chart of kundalini is simply a map of the heavens at the date and time of your birth.

It is simply a device to measure or indicate the role fate plays in your life - good or bad.

    2.  Free will:

Free will is the faculty of the brain and the mind used to chart ones own course in life.

It dominantly consists of how you think , your attitude , your perceptions and MOST IMPORTANTLY DECISION MAKING !

People who believe in free will decry fate as an excuse of the weak!  Generally speaking free will people think of astrology an unnecessary crutch or means of escapism used to justify being lazy or incompetent!

Philosophical connections between fate  and free will:

There are many philosophical and spiritual dictums/ doctrines  that tend to point to the connections between the fate and free will.

Here are 2 of my favourites:

1. Karmanusarini budhhi:

Simply stated it means that your Karma will determine your buddha or intellect. Karma you have   is the extension of your fate .

Hence your fate determines your buddhi  or FREE WILL . Which ultimately means your fate will determine how you think , people you meet  , your education etc.

    2.   Buddhi karmanusarini:

Simply stated it means that your Buddhi will determine your karma or FATE.

Hence a person who thinks better or acts better WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE BETTER FATE!

SO WHAT IS THE TRUTH ?

You  may accuse me of playing with words and trying to confuse you .

Thats not the case because this is a very serious and important subject matter that requires deep introspection and warrants AN OPEN MIND!

Examples:

One of the easiest ways to understand complex subjects is to simplify them via real life examples.

I shall be presenting 4 real life cases i have seen, that have suffered a  similar  outcome in one sphere of life.

1. Individual  A wanted to marry individual B :

A wanted to marry B .  He consulted an astrologer before  deciding . The astrologer said NO. 

A said ‘ I don't believe in astrology and these pandits ‘.  

A got married to B . 

 After 2 years , A  got a divorce.

2.   Individual G wanted to marry individual H :

G wanted to marry H.  But G was a strong believer in astrology and he consulted 3 astrologers:

First astrologer told G  - YES you can proceed.

Second astrologer told G - NO you will get divorced.

Third astrologer told G - NO you are not fated to get married.

G was madly in love with H . He got married with H.

After 1,  year G got a divorce.

3.    Individual S wanted to marry individual T :

S wanted to marry T . The families of both S and T recommended seeing some astrologer to check the match.

S and T both refused. They had full faith in their love and companionship.

S and T took a divorce, 5 years after marriage.

4.    Individual M wanted to marry individual F :

M wanted to marry F inspite of grave opposition from his/her own family . The family was convinced that the marriage would not last. But M was adamant and did not heed to family pressure and proceeded to marry F.

M took divorce 3 months after marriage.

Understanding the above examples:

The above mentioned examples should help us understand  the difficult and complicated concepts of fate vs free will.

1. Could any 1 one of these divorces be prevented?

    2.  Were they all fated to get divorced?

The inner workings of the fate mechanism is very intricate and not so simple to understand.

However we must venture to examine this fine balance of fate and free will that rules our lives and the lives of those around us.

RISING COVID DEATHS WITH INCOMPLETE DEATH RITUALS!

 Introduction:

One of the most important tools in the fight against the spread of  Covid-19 has been Social Distancing . Also most countries  / governments have restricted physical contact or gathering of too many people in one place at the same time

This applies to funeral or death rituals all across the world.

Unintended consequence on  death rituals:

One of the most unexpected consequences of these restrictions has been on the non-performance of death or funeral rituals carried out all over the world for people who have died.

Most people could not carry out or perform death rituals for their loved ones who lost their lives due to the restrictions imposed due to Covid -19.

Staggering numbers:

As we speak today , about 9,85,000 people have lost their lives to covid all over the world. Even if we assume 20% could perform some basic death ritual , the other 80% or about 8 lakh people all over the world died without receiving any basic death rituals.

Thats a VERY LARGE NUMBER!

A question of belief:

Many people do not believe in death rituals . Most people don't believe the afterlife or the concept of the Soul or the concept of Reincarnation. Thats fine !

But the basic premise of a death ritual is to honour and respect your loved one !

Who would not want to to that?

Live example:  A dear friend of mine lost her 72 yr old father to covid, after 14 days in the hospital. She was only allowed to see his face via Video call as police was restricting people at the crematorium.

She hasn't been able to get over it even today!

Death ritual as a COPING MECHANISM:

Even if you don't believe in the fancy esoteric philosophy of the ritual , we must remember that the death ritual is  very important coping mechanism that allows you to deal with death of your loved one.

This can be through:

1. fasting

2. feeding people 

3. remembering your loved one and crying !!

4. donating stuff to the needy in the name of the loved one.

The Indian system of Shraadh and Tarpan:

Hindu philosophy prescribes a very defined set of rituals for the deceased on the death of the loved one and once on a year on his death anniversary. There is a period of 15 days in the year which isreserved for this which is called ' pitru paksha'.

I feel that the logic of the Indian system is also the same. TO cope with the death and allow yourself TO GRIEVE!

CONSEQUENCES OF LACK OF DEATH RITUALS:

Most of the world religions and countries and cultures have there own set pre-defined death rituals. They also decree the consequences of non-performance of the same.

What could be the possible consequences, if 8 lakh people, have died all over the world without proper death rituals??

My thoughts  on the above subject are:

1. There definitely would be some sort of negative overhang all over the world . It could be in the form of a HEAVINESS OR DARKNESS.

2. I  feel that these people would be most keen to receive from their loved ones who are alive. This could be in the form of remembrances or prayers from their loved ones.

3. I also feel they would act as a natural sheild for their living relatives and protect them. 

{ NB: My feelings on the above subject are personal and based on my faith and belief systems. I respect everyones feelings on the same}

4. Nature maintains a very delicate balance between life and death. I feel that balance has been badly disturbed. An extremely thin and delicate veil between the living and dead is being pierced.

CONCLUSION:

We are living in unprecedented times . I don't remember a time in history when 10 lakh people ALL OVER THE WORLD died in a period of 6 to 8 months.

I feel we are always connected to our deceased loved ones and their spirit never leaves us. We are an extension of them and they are our extension - DEAD or ALIVE!

I bow to all those who Have lost their lives to covid and pray for their peace and Transition!!

JUNE 2020 TO DECEMBER 2020: A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING!

Introduction:

The first half of 2020 has been consumed by the Corona virus and its ravaging effect on the world economy and people at large.

So what does the second half of the year 2020 look like ?

Will corona persist ? will there be  a second wave ? Will normalcy be restored soon or delayed?


Crystal ball gazing :

My feelings about the second half of the year are as follows:

1.  Corona likely to persist
2.  Other issues to dominate.
3. Extreme volatility to encompasss everything in life
4. Expect the unexpected
5. Justice shall be subverted on many levels
6. Old authority structures will fail leading to social unrest
7. DECEIT shall become  a part of our lives.


Major planetary configurations for the second half of the year:

1.Upcoming solar eclipse on 21st june 2020
2. Retrograde jupiter's entry to Sagittarius on 30th june 2020
3. Mars retrograde from September 10 to November 2020
4. Jupiter re-entry into Capricorn on November 20, 2020


A. Corona will not be so dominant :

I do expect a second wave of the corona virus but it  should not be as dominant as it was in the first half of the year.

Other issues that can dominate are:

a. War like situations around the world
b. Snap elections
c. Shortage of essential commodities

B. Extreme volatillty to encompass all spheres of life:

Human beings as a species, require  some amount of stability in daily affairs, to function properly.
However i feel 2020 will not allow anything to be stable.

It could be volatile:
. vegetable prices
. weather
. societal measures like staying home etc
. relationships

It seems to be a very innocuous statement but lack of stability can be the receipe for disaster!

C. Expect the unexpected :

This extends from the above theme of extreme volatility.

We should not be suprised the see or hear young people commiting suicide or persons expecting death to live very long.

Medicines could also have increasing unexpected negative results.

Illicit or illegal behaviour might get legalised or become an accepted part of society.

D. Old authority structures shall fail :

This forms part of the large scale transformation  of our society that shall be chaotic and tumultuous.

Our trusted structures like banks , adjudication mechanisms can falter leadings to social unrest.

Even our good old JOINT FAMILY SYSTEM shall be severely tested !!

E. DECEIT shall become part of our lives:

A wolf in sheeps clothing means a person who is deliberately lying or manipulating you into thinking that he is harmless , whereas he is actually your enemy.

I feel that we shall be surrounded by deceitful people and people pretending to be our friends.

Telling the truth shall become  a liability and liars shall be prized assets.

Being virtuous shall become a very heavy burden to bear!

Moral of the story is : TRUST NO ONE!!


Conclusion:

The wolf is at our door and is pretending to be our friend.

Don't be fooled . The world has become a very dangerous place.

Take due precautions and  BE SAFE!

ON THE EDGE !! APRIL AND MAY 2020!

Introduction:

The corona virus has taken the world by surprise and sown fear in everybody's psyche.

The most important question on everyones mind is - WHEN WILL THE CORONA OUTBREAK END ?

I shall attempt to answer this question by putting forward my astrological hypotheses and postulating the possible outcomes.

TWO POSSIBLE OUTCOMES BASED ON ASTROLOGICAL PARAMETERS:


1. Significant relief after the month of April and May 2020.

2. Very bad  outcomes in case no improvement after the month of May 2020.


A.  SIGNIFICANT RELIEF FROM THE MONTHS OF APRIL AND MAY 2020:

I feel that there should be significant relief and improvement in the treatment of the virus from the 1st week of April 2020.

This is because :

a. Mars leaves ketu and enters Capricorn on 22nd March 2020.
b. Venus enters Taurus , its own sign on 28th March 2020.
c. Most importantly Jupiter (Guru) enters Capricorn on 30th March 2020.

This trio of forthcoming changes in the planets gives me hope of good news on the corona front

d. The other important factor to be borne in mind would be the retrogression of the planets which plays an important role in the healing of the world.

In this context:

Jupiter goes retrograde ( vakri) from May 14th 2020 and
Saturn goes retrograde ( vakri) from May 11th 2020.


There is a school of thought in astrology which states that retrograde planets are powerful and have strong healing effects.

Hence keeping the above factors in mind , i feel there should be significant breakthrough in the treatment of the virus by 15 th May 2020.


B. WORSE OUTCOMES , IF NO RELIEF , POST MAY 2020:

I also feel that, if the above changes in the planetary patterns,  DO NOT , show any significant improvement in the treatment of the virus by 15th May 2020, there could be very bad outcomes and spread of the virus.

There could be some unpredictable  movement in the trajectory of the virus and outcomes could worsen.

In the above scenarios , i expect stability to return post september 2020 , when Jupiter and Saturn regain forward movement!


Conclusion:

We are precariously poised on the cusp of a pandemic .

Let us hope for the best but be prepared for the worst !!

2019 - A YEAR OF ANGER , PAIN AND CONFLICT!

Introduction: 




As my previous post ( The Angry General fights the Snake)  had  mentioned , we should be prepared for bad times!




The year 2019 has begun with some  ominous tones. We have had the terror attacks in Pulwama , the escalating tension between India and Pakistan and the growing fear of war.




Elsewhere in the world we have had the America China trade war , the yellow vest protests in France etc.




Is this tension going to escalate or recede ?




The Astrological climate:




The year 2019 does not forebode well for a number of reasons. Let us look at some of them:




1. The coming together of Saturn And Ketu ( dragons tail) from 23rd March 2019 to 24th Jan 2020.


2. The coming together of Jupiter and Saturn And Ketu twice :


a. From 29th March 2019 to 23th April 2019 and
b. From 5th November 2019 to 24th Jan 2020.


3. All there major planets come together in the fiery planet sign of Sagittarius or Dhanu.


4. The retrogression of Jupiter in Scorpio from 23rd April 2019 to 11th August 2019 in Scorpio.








In-depth  explanation:




Now let us try and examine each of these events in detail and portend what they hold for us.








A. Saturn and Ketu coming together in Sagittarius from 23rd March 2019 to 24th January 2020:







Saturn or Shani basically stands for justice and the masses. It is the job of saturn to make you pay for what you have done and learn your lessons.
Ketu is considered the planet of Moksha or salvation. It also stands for organised chaos and suddenness.


Hence we can expect sudden and swift unexpected closures of long standing disputes and trials beginning where one does not expect them.


IT BRINGS ABOUT A SOCIAL CATHARSIS OR CLEANING!


However due to the nature of Ketu , there could be violence and stiff opposition to the same!
There will be a re-drawing of social orders and society.






B. Jupiter and Saturn and Ketu coming together in Dhanu :

29th March 2019

5th November 2019

These 2 combinations will form the hallmark of 2019 as these 3 planets are heavyweights and play a huge role in forming and destroying our lives and our societies!


Jupiter is the planet of Goodness or morality and wishes to guide us towards righteousness. Ketu is a planet of brute force and Saturn causes delay and frustrations.
Sagittarius is a fiery and stubborn sign which is also related to religion and spirituality.




In the above mentioned months , we can expect:




1. Religion taking centre stage and fights and disagreements emanating from it.
2. There will be great amount of acrimony and desire to dominate
3. It is most likely that tolerance levels will fall dramatically and people will get very irritable very quickly!
4. The true meaning of Religion or God or Spirituality will be difficult to grasp.






C. The importance of the sign Sagittarius:




Dhanus is the natural 9th sign of the zodiac and is considered very powerful and stubborn. It is also a fiery sign due to which we may experience :


1. More fires and fire related accidents around the world.
2. Increased amount of accidents where peoples heads are not found or there are beheaded because  Ketu does not have a head.






D. Warning for people with Sagittarius moon sign or sun sign:




People who have a lot of planets in Dhanu or have their birth moon in Dhanu are likely face a rough time.


They are also likely to experience heightened tension , stress and high levels of conflict with their peers and loved ones!






E. Retrogression of Jupiter in Scorpio:




Retrogression of scorpio is likely to cause more revengeful  attacks as Scorpio is a sign that never forgets.


Scorpions will experience an urge to either fight with people or that people would like to come and clear scores with them!




CONCLUSION:




All the above factors portend to a violent , nasty and epochal year! It will most certainly play an important role in shaping our lives and our society!

The Angry General ( Mars) and the Hungry Snake ( Rahu Ketu) !

Introduction:

The astrological weather in the coming months is full of action, adventure, drama and DANGER!!

Let me explain to you , the title first-

1. The Angry General stands for Mars or Mangal who is now retrograde and with ketu in Capricorn (makar).

2. The Hungry snake stands for Rahu and Ketu which are mythologically depicted together as a Snake.

The combination of these 2 astrological events can be depicted as the Snake trying to devour or eat up the General.

Further simplification of the above events:

1. Angry General ( retrograde Mars):

Mars is considered the most fiery of planets and hence called the General . It stands for anger,aggression, war , the army , bloodshed , and land and valour .

A retrograde mars is considered to be more troublesome as it is not allowed to show its full power. It is caged and not given freedom to express itself!

Also this time around , the retro mars is conjunct with Ketu, the planet of chaos and unpredictability!

2. Hungry Snake ( Rahu and Ketu):

Rahu and Ketu are two planets which are depicted together as a snake.

When all the planets are on one side of Rahu ketu ( as depicted graphically) it is called a Kal Sarpa.

Hence if you visualise - Rahu is eating  the Sun and Mercury whilst Ketu is fighting with retrograde Mars !

The following important astrological events are in progress:

1. Mars or Mangal is retrograde from 27th June 2018 to 27th August 2018. Also whilst retrograde , mars is conjuct ketu in Capricorn sign.

2. Mercury is retrograde from 26th July 2018 to 19th August 2018 in Cancer sign.

3. There is a Kal - Sarpa formation in the zodiac from 30th July 2018 to 6th November 2018.

What should we expect :

Based on the above mentioned events in progress one may expect the following:

1. Delay in finishing all events due to the retrogression of mercury.
2. All monetary commitments will also get postponed
3. An unexplainable , palpable fear and anxiety might engulf us , due the ongoing kal sarpa.
4. People will get very emotional and react disproportionately.
5. There can be sudden deaths, accidents and unexplained turn of events.
6. Anger levels will rise and peace will be difficult to be attained!
7. Some people will try to get adventurous for no reason and pay a heavy price for it.
8. IT IS AN INAUSPICIOUS TIME TO START ANYTHING NEW!

Conclusion:

The coming times bring peril, unpredictability and very strong unseen headwinds.
